SA.22c Rubidium Standard | 10 MHz
Symmetricom | Microsemi
$310.00
Symmetricom SA.22C is a compact 10 MHz rubidium oscillator frequency reference standard supporting a serial interface like the more sophisticated SRS PRS-10.
Includes a 56219-15892 interface board and heatsink combo used in the telecommunications industry. You can also buy a BG7TBL interface board with better defined inputs and outputs. The telecom board uses an SMB connector but I have included an SMA adapter for common bench use.
Heatsink (190mm x 100mm x 6mm aluminum) is integrated with thermal pad connecting the standard and interface board as one modular component. This design lends itself well to other projects and enclosures.
Requires 15V 1.3A power supply.
SA.22c also accepts 5V power and can be disciplined with a 3.3V PPS timepulse like the Leo Bodnar LB-1421.
Calibrated August 2025. 12-hour bench test for serial 8833 shows ADEV 5.70E-12 and Δf/f +2.24E-9 for t 4,000 s and average time 30,000 s.
Performance of a rubidium standard deteriorates after decades and many on eBay are well over twenty years old. While an older unit may still be performant, you cannot tell unless its frequency stability is verified.
Interface board pinouts support common cabling or Dupont 2.54mm (0.1”) pitch connectors:
J1.1. frequency output
J1.[2,3,4,8] ground
J1.5 J2.1
J1.7 J2.4
J1.10 15VDC
J2.1 unmapped
J2.[2,3] ground
J2.4 unmapped
For J4 see Table A-1 18-Pin Samtec I/O Connector in SA.22c Designer’s Reference and User’s Guide.
